Christine Von Gunten

Christine von Gunten has over 10 years of experience in various fields of research and the industrial environment, such as drug development, microbiology, immunology and the medical devices industry.

After completing an internship at Novartis Animal Health, she spent 3 years at Athelas, a drug discovery company based in Geneva, developing a novel class of drugs to treat bacterial infectious diseases. She worked in the HTS department where she identified drugs inhibiting virulence of human bacterial pathogens.

Christine worked 4 years in Barcelona at the Center for Genomic Regulation where she set up an antibodies library against human transcription factors. She developed immunoassays, scaled them up for HTS and she participated in the process of antibodies commercialisation.

Today, she is Scientific Coordinator at Medistri SA, a Swiss based company that provides sterilization, laboratory analyses and logistics/distribution for professionals in the medical and pharmaceutical industries. Her area of expertise includes development and validation of new assays (biocompatibility, packaging, germs identification), training of technicians, and data analysis and interpretation.
